The water looks clean… but is it really healthy?

Mirroring bacteria in water: what you need to know

Even after filtration, the water may contain fragments of dead bacteria : cell walls, toxins, DNA.

These residues are no longer alive, but they can:

  • cheat quality tests,
  • stimulate immune reactions or allergies,
  • alter taste or biological balance.

👉 This is called the bacterial mirror effect. : an illusion of purity.

The awakening of dormant bacteria

Some bacteria do not die: they go dormant in a state VBNC (Viable Purpose Not Cultivable).

They survive:

  • in the microcracks of used filters,
  • in biofilms in water pipes,
  • even after disinfection or UV treatment.

📈 Result: they reactivate later and recolonize the system, like an invisible ghost of contaminated water.

How to avoid the mirror effect?

✅ Use high-quality filtration : ceramic filters, activated carbon, colloidal silver.

🧼 Maintain your systems:

  • monthly cleaning,
  • replacement of cartridges every 6 months,
  • regular disinfection of tanks and taps.

🚿 For your health, don’t be fooled by appearances: the water must be visibly clean… and really healthy.
