The beige priming washer XXPB creates tight contact between a filter and the faucet during its preparation. This replacement accessory is suitable for priming Black Berkey® elements and Berkey PF-2™ filters.

💧 With a Black Berkey®
Place the washer on the end of the filter following the diagram in the instructions. Hold it against the faucet and slowly turn on the cold water. The water replaces the air contained in the filter, which must moisten its entire surface.
🔄 With a Berkey PF-2™
Center the hole in the washer on one end of the PF-2™, then hold the assembly against the faucet. The procedure involves rinsing at each of the two ends, until clear water is obtained. Follow the PF-2™ instructions for steps and times.
Which accessory are you looking for?
The XXPB is the washer used temporarily during priming. The XWASHER joint remains mounted inside the tank with a Black Berkey® filter. The Black Berkey Primer™ Pump is a separate manual device, useful for priming a Black Berkey® without a tap.
Practical tips
- Always hold the filter by hand during operation.
- Gradually increase the flow rate from the tap to maintain a tight contact.
- After use, let the washer dry and keep it clean with your accessories.
- Consult the instructions for the filter concerned before the first priming: the Black Berkey® and PF-2™ procedures differ.
