STAINLESS STEEL SYSTEM 0.95 L
The Go: a small fountain to take away
The two stainless steel tanks overlap for filtration and nest for transport, after removing the filter. Their narrow format takes up little space in your travel gear.
After filtration, remove the upper chamber and pour the water from the lower tank into a glass. The Go does not have a tap. Its small 0.95 liter reserve can be renewed as needed.
FILTERING BOTTLE INCLUDED
The Sport: drink directly from the straw
The Sport Berkey® bottle supplied is a separate solution, approximately 650 mL, with its own filter cartridge. Water passes through this cartridge when you drink through a straw or squeeze the bottle.
Its flexible body is made of BPA-free LDPE No. 4. The Sport filter and the Black Berkey® of the Go each have their own format and replacement mark.
BLACK BERKEY PRIMER™
The pump prepares the filter
The Black Berkey Primer™ is a manual pump which allows you to prime the Black Berkey® without connecting to a faucet. It helps to expel the air present in the element so that the water can pass through it.
The pump is used to prepare the element. The Go then filters by gravity, without operating the pump and without electricity. A priming button is also provided for the tap method.
MAXIMUM GOLF FLOW
A flow rate adapted to its small size
The manufacturer claims up to 3.8 liters per hour with the unique Black Berkey® installed and the upper tank full.
The flow rate decreases with the water level and depends on priming as well as the condition of the filter. This figure concerns the Go stainless steel system; it does not describe the flow rate of the Sport bottle.
All contents of the kit
- 1 upper chamber and 1 lower Go Berkey® chamber in stainless steel.
- 1 stainless steel lid.
- 1 Black Berkey® element, with 1 gasket/washer and 1 wing nut.

- 1 vinyl carrying bag.
Two filter elements, two separate monitoring
| Element | Replacement mark |
|---|---|
| Black Berkey® in the Go | Replacement recommended by NMCL around 3,000 US gallons, or approximately 11 350 L for this single element ; earlier depending on the water. |
| Sport filter in the bottle | Instruction references: approximately 640 fillings of mains water or 160 fillings of untreated fresh water ; early replacement possible depending on water. |
These benchmarks apply separately and do not define a fixed duration in years. The 50-year conservation statement published for the Sport concerns storage, not 50 years of filter use. The number of fills indicated for untreated water does not guarantee the potability of any water taken from nature.
Getting started and maintaining your kit
- For the Go: wash the tanks, prime the Black Berkey® with cold water then install it with the gasket in the upper tank. Tighten the nut by hand, without forcing.
- First filtration: throw away the commissioning water and follow the instructions until you obtain clear water. Avoid completely filling the upper tank if the lower tank already contains water.
- Checking the Go assembly: the red dye test provided for in its instructions looks for internal leaks around the assembly. It does not measure effectiveness against all contaminants. Only use a coloring agent that complies with the manufacturer's instructions.
- For Sport: fill the bottle then squeeze it in sequences of 3 to 4 seconds until the water coming out of the straw is clear. Repeat this rinsing each time you change the cartridge.
- Cleaning: maintain the Go tanks and the bottle regularly. Remove the Sport filter before washing the bottle and straw. Do not apply soap to the filter elements.
- For transport and breaks: empty the tanks and remove the Black Berkey® before moving the Go or fitting its tanks. Protect the filter separately to preserve its stem. Follow instructions for drying and storage; do not allow wet filters to freeze.
Understanding Black Berkey® performance
Black Berkey® elements use a proprietary blend of filter media. The manufacturer publishes independent laboratory tests for more than 200 contaminants, including certain heavy metals, pesticides, pharmaceutical residues, volatile organic compounds, and perfluorinated compounds.
Results relate to the substances and conditions described in each report. Testing according to an NSF/ANSI protocol does not constitute NSF certification of the product. Phoenix filter specifications do not apply to the Black Berkey® elements supplied here.
