💧 Sealing in the right place

The gasket must lie flat between the filter base and the tank. It helps prevent water from passing directly through the fixing hole, around the filter rod.

🔧 Replace the gasket

Empty the tank before intervention. Remove the nut, disengage the filter and replace the gasket. Reassemble the element, keeping the seal on the inside, then tighten the nut by hand, without forcing.

Check assembly

At each reassembly, check the position and condition of the seal: it must be well installed, without folds or visible damage. Excessive tightening of the nut is not a solution to compensate for a damaged seal.

The Black Berkey® instructions describe a check with red dye to check the assembly and identify possible internal leaks. This is done without the PF-2™ filters installed.

Seal or priming washer?

The XWASHER remains installed with the filter while the fountain is in use. The beige washer XXPB is a faucet priming accessory, to be chosen for another operation. To replace the seals of two Black Berkey® elements, provide two Berkey® ref XWASHER. Ensures the sealing of your filters. Compatible with all Berkey® models. Delivery France.

Très mauvaise odeur chimique

Ces joints donnent un très mauvais goût à l eau même après nettoyage.

Merci pour votre retour. Lorsque les joints sont correctement installés dans la cuve supérieure, ils ne donnent normalement ni goût ni odeur à l’eau. Si un goût persiste, il est probable que l’origine vienne d’un autre élément, par exemple un défaut ou une anomalie des filtres.
