The actual flow rate depends in particular on the available pressure, the condition of the cartridge and the assembly. The pressure values relate to the cartridge; they do not replace the limits of the complete system.
💧 Two complementary materials
Ceramic forms a physical barrier for particles. Activated carbon acts on chlorine and various dissolved substances documented by Coldstream.
This refill allows you to preserve your case and replace the consumable element at the due date.
🔎 Check your case
- Note the reference of the cartridge currently fitted.
- Check the ¼″ BSP threaded attachment and the available space inside the case.
- Use your system manual to confirm compatibility. A common brand is not enough to make all models interchangeable.
🛠️ Replace the cartridge, step by step
- Shut off the water supply and relieve the pressure before opening the case. Place a container underneath and work with clean hands.
- Remove the old cartridge and check the condition of the seals. Position the gasket on the fixing of the new cartridge, then screw by hand without forcing.
- Close the case according to its instructions. Restore the water supply gradually and check for leaks at the connections and the box.
- Let it run and discard the water for 5 minutes after installation. This rinsing removes in particular the first particles of carbon.
The internal fixing of the cartridge is separate from the kitchen faucet connection. This cartridge is mounted in a pressure housing; it does not attach directly to the faucet spout.
🧽 Maintaining the ceramic
If the flow rate decreases, remove the cartridge after closing and depressurizing the system. Lightly clean its exterior surface with a suitable pad, under cold water, in accordance with the instructions.
Keep the outlet away from cleaning water. Cleaning can improve the flow rate, but it does not reset the capacity of the activated carbon.
📅 Keep the correct mark
Note the date of commissioning. Replace the cartridge at the first limit reached: 3,000 L or 6 months, and sooner if it is damaged or worn.
On a ceramic with a colored layer, the appearance of white during cleaning is a sign of wear. This benchmark does not measure the chemical saturation of the filter.
Practical Questions
Can I install it in a gravity fountain?
The CF1075W is intended for pressure fed enclosures. For a fountain to be filled manually, choose an element designed for gravity and compatible with its fixings.
What to do after several days without use?
After at least 5 days without use, the Coldstream instructions ask to pour and throw away 2 liters before resuming consumption.
Does the 10-inch CTO MAX have the same capacity?
The capacity of this sheet concerns specifically the CF1075W Slim-Line: 3,000 L. Data from another CTO MAX format should not be used to determine its replacement.
