🏠 An easy-to-integrate reserve

The Light format favors a copolyester structure and a base that facilitates service at the tap. Check your available space: 67.3 cm height with base, to which is added the space necessary to open and fill the upper chamber.

💧 A flow rate that follows the water level

With the 2 Black Berkey® filters included, the Berkey Light® can produce up to 15.2 L/h. By adding a second pair, sold separately, the maximum advertised flow rate reaches 26.5 L/h.

These values ​​are calculated with the upper chamber full. As the level drops, water pressure decreases and filtration naturally slows. Proper priming allows the elements to function properly.

🗓️ When to replace the Black Berkey®?

The manufacturer recommends replacement at 3,000 US gallons per element, or approximately 11,350 L. For the supplied pair, this is approximately 22,700 L in total, or less depending on water quality.

Note the installation date and track your fills. This volume benchmark does not correspond to a guaranteed number of years. Cleaning can restore a flow rate reduced by clogging, without resetting the capacity to zero.

🔎 Documented filtration

Black Berkey® use a proprietary blend of filter media. The manufacturer publishes independent tests including certain heavy metals, pesticides, volatile organic compounds and perfluorinated compounds. The results are read substance by substance and according to the conditions tested.

The NSF/ANSI protocols cited in the reports describe the tests carried out. They should not be confused with an NSF certification of the system. The Black Berkey® documents are accessible at the bottom of this sheet.

🛠️ Your fountain in 4 gestures

  • Prepare: wash your hands, then clean the tanks and the faucet.
  • Prime and mount: saturate the Black Berkey® with cold drinking water, install their seals on the interior side of the upper chamber and tighten the nuts by hand without force.
  • Fill: pour the water into the upper chamber, taking into account the space still available at the bottom. An already full lower chamber may overflow if you continue to feed the system.
  • Serve: let the water pass through the filters then use the lower chamber faucet. Follow the initial rinse indicated in the instructions before consuming the water.

🟣 The dye test verifies the assembly

The Black Berkey® instructions use red food coloring to check assembly and for internal leaks, particularly around gaskets, filter attachments and caps. Carry out the control with the appropriate dye and according to the manufacturer's protocol; remove any PF-2™ before testing.

This visual inspection is not an effectiveness test against all contaminants. If a red or pink tint persists after checking the assembly, ask for help from our after-sales service.

🧽 Regular maintenance

Clean the tanks, the base and the tap according to the instructions. Install the system away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The filters are cleaned externally and primed again in accordance with their instructions. Protect wet parts from freezing.

Before transporting the fountain, remove the filters and protect their threaded rods. A long period of non-use requires the drying and storage precautions indicated by the manufacturer.

🚰 Daily water

Prefer drinking water from the network for everyday use and follow the instructions for your installation. Use cold or room temperature water.

Visually clear water alone does not attest to its health quality. This system does not desalinate sea water.

Achat sécurisé avec PayPal, livraison rapide et bien protégée. pour la mise en service c'est une autre paire de manche, la notice BERKEY en anglais n'est pas très explicite notamment l'amorçage des filtres n'est pas intuitifs ... Maintenant ça marche !!
