Indicative dimensions announced for this reference, at check if the available space is constrained. Tank capacity describes storage volume, not hourly production. The nominal capacity of a cartridge does not guarantee an identical result for each substance over its entire duration of use.

📦 Configuration in detail

  • The upper and lower Monderma® tanks in AISI 304 stainless steel.
  • 2 Coldstream FTO+ filters.
  • Stainless steel faucet with level indicator.

💧 Simple everyday action

Pour the water into the upper tank: it passes through the filters and collects in the lower tank. Then serve it from the tap.

Before each filling, check the space available in the lower tank to avoid overflowing. Use cold water suitable for filtration; laboratory results do not guarantee the potability of any unknown water.

The level indicator tap allows you to visualize the water reserve in the lower tank. It provides information on the quantity available, without measuring the quality of the water.

⏳ Understanding the flow

Ceramic allows water to pass through gradually. The water level in the upper tank, the commissioning and the surface condition of the cartridges influence the filtration speed.

A slowdown when the level drops is normal. The manufacturer's benchmark of 1 L/h concerns the CF163W; it does not constitute a promise of constant flow for the complete Monderma fountain.

🗓️ Plan for replacement

The Coldstream instructions recommend renewal every 5 to 6 months. The nominal capacity does not exempt you from respecting this schedule.

Cleaning the ceramic surface can improve the flow, but it does not regenerate the activated carbon or reset the useful life to zero.

🛠️ Commission and maintain the FTO+

  • Mount cleanly. Wash your hands, position the seal and tighten the wing nut by hand, without forcing.
  • Rinse the new filters. The Coldstream instructions ask to let it filter then throw away the first 10 liters. It may take up to 45 minutes to impregnate the filters.
  • Clean the ceramic if the flow rate decreases. Lightly scrub the surface with a suitable pad under cold water, preventing cleaning water from entering the filter outlet.
  • After at least 5 days without use, fill the upper tank and discard the filtered water of this rinsing, in accordance with the instructions.
  • Follow the FTO+ protocol. Do not apply the dye test provided for other families of filters to ceramic cartridges. Checking an assembly does not replace a laboratory efficiency test.

🔄 Switch to the Imperial range

Do you already have Monderma tanks? Consult the Imperial GF and Imperial refills AMB and check their installation in your system. Then adopt the instructions for the new cartridge: its preparation, flow rate and maintenance schedule differ from those of the FTO+.

To choose a complete fountain in the same format: Monderma Big 8.5 L with 2 Imperial GF or Monderma Big 8.5 L with 2 Imperial AMB.

🔬 Understanding the Coldstream tests

The manufacturer publishes results for the Coldstream FTO+ CF163W tested in a Coldstreamsystem, on identified substances: notably chlorine, lead and certain organic compounds. Results vary depending on the substance and the volume already filtered.

These tests do not demonstrate total elimination of all contaminants. Reference to NSF/ANSI protocols 42, 53 or P231 describes the framework of the tests; it is not worth, in itself, NSF certification of this Monderma fountain.

Filter manufacturing: Coldstream FTO+ cartridges are manufactured in the United Kingdom. The tanks and the tap of this configuration are made of AISI 304 stainless steel.
